Privacy policy
This website is my personal portfolio. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services and loads no third-party content; the font is hosted locally. Personal data is only processed when pages are requested and when someone sends a message through the contact form.

Hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When a page is requested, Vercel processes technically necessary data such as the IP address, date and time, the requested page, the referring page and browser details, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. Vercel keeps these logs only for a limited period.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a secure, working website. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in its data processing agreement also apply.
Contact form and email
When you send a message through the contact form, I process your name, email address, optionally your company or role, and your message, in order to reply. The details are not stored on this website. They are sent as an email to my Microsoft Outlook.com inbox via the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA; sending through its EU region in Ireland). Resend is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and EU Standard Contractual Clauses also apply.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR when your message is about an internship, a job or another collaboration, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in answering messages). The same applies to emails sent directly to my address. I delete messages once they are no longer needed and no legal obligation requires me to keep them.
To prevent spam, the form contains a field that is invisible to people and checks how quickly it was submitted. I also limit the number of messages per IP address; for this, the IP address is held in memory for at most ten minutes and is not stored permanently. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Motion setting
If you switch the animations on or off with the “Motion” control, your browser stores this choice locally (localStorage, key “jules-motion-v1”). It never leaves your device. It is required for the function you asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, the German telecommunications and digital services data protection act) and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). A short email to me is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
